When God (or any other supreme being you believe in) was creating New Zealand he showed around the first inhabitants. AS they walked the supreme being showed them the bountiful reefs where there was tonnes of food. The forests contained bountiful food as well. The hot water was always available due to the volcanic springs. Snow-capped mountains provided plenty of water and there was a bay full of islands. A single tree was placed at the top of a hill so everyone knew where they were. There were even Dolphins that came up to the beach for the villagers to play with.
One of the villagers asked the supreme being why they had been so blessed with such a paradise.
The supreme being replied " I forgot to tell you the downside is the neighbours."
