    The global South was mostly colonies of the Europeans in the 18th-19th C
    and post WW2 the economic colonies of the USA with the odd US/CIA
    regime change thrown in for good measure.

    The scars of colonialism run deep on the Global South and its attraction
    to China/Russia is a mix of distrust and revenge, IMO.

    In Aus we're different because we still support the coloniser
    and have King Charles 3rd as our head of state. In much of the Global South
    race features in differentiating the colonised from the colonisers and of course
    white Aussies quickly outnumbered our Indigenous Peoples.
