Well... LumiMEMS was ONLY a theory on paper late last year, so they came up with how and why it could/would work, then they went to California and presented the idea. After that, UWA worked on making it work PHYSICALLY and now we have the LumiMEMS developed as a physical object, which will need to be implanted into a prototype for testing.
