On Friday, the Indian website put up an update on the Almond price:
Almond rose by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today on the back of rising demand from retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Almond (California) prices were up by Rs 100 to Rs 23,200 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also higher by Rs 5 to Rs 790-810 per kg.
Converted into Australian dollars, that translates to about $12.40 per kilo at the current rate, a new high for the almond price in AUD terms.
It would seem this rise is mostly due to the fall in the Australian dollar over the past week.
