Almond prices rising, page-2

Earlier today, the Australian dollar fell to the lowest level in six months vs the USD.

If these two trends continue- the Australian dollar weakening as the almond price rises- this should leave Select in a nice place.

Of course, even if the Australian dollar continues to fall as the almond price surges, it will be meaningless if the next harvest is hammered by some disaster.

But even so, following on from that capital raising the company is now more diversified than before... as I understand (and correct me if I am wrong here) roughly 50% of the almond orchards are in Victoria, 30% in NSW and 20% in South Australia.

This geographic diversification means that it is now quite unlikely that an entire harvest would end up being wiped out by a single event.
