I had one of these. The P76 predecessor - 1970 Austin Kimberley - straight six mounted transverse.
Like the Mini it had hydraulic ("hydrolastic") suspension, but unlike the Mini it steered like a boat.
And the suspension leaked so needed to be refilled to pump it back up.
But it was so roomy, and the ride was very comfortable at speed.
