Alinta shares set to resume trade Shares in Perth-based utility firm, Alinta, will resume trading tomorrow, after it requested a halt pending its plan for a merger with rival, Australian Gas Light (AGL).
It says it now owns 12.9 per cent of AGL, after taking a 10 per cent stake overnight and additional shares during the day, making it the biggest shareholder.
AT 7:00pm AEDT, Alinta shares last traded at $10.97.
AGL shares rose more than 6 per cent on the Australian stock exchange to $19.45.
AGL says it notes Alinta's merger proposal, but is yet to receive a formal statement from the firm.
