The major cause of rectifying the deficit in those numbers is bracket creep, all those forward estimates are based on the current income tax brackets & rates.
What do you think will have happened to the current tax brackets in 10 years time?
The brackets will have increased & the rates amended just like the S3TC.
So those projections of a narrowed deficit are fantasy.

Expenditure on health including aged care will increase far in excess of inflation & earnings. There is nothing Australia can do about that, it's all to do with demographics & the increasing use of technology.
Revenue will not growth faster than expenditure on health without tax increases.
So forget about saving money on health.

Interest is not a controllable cost by the government other than by producing surpluses instead of deficits.

Do you want to slash spending on defence? Cancel those subs?

So all you are left with is the NDIS.

I'm not saying there isn't room to save money, including on the NDIS but denying the reality that Australia needs to increase taxation is just delusional.
A equitable & easy way to start doing that is to amend the CGT rules.
