IMO there is absolutely no need for Australia to reduce CO2 emissions. It's an element essential for life.
No one is going to build any form of coal plant IMO. It's just too risky politically.
Barnett's pipeline makes a little sense, create a national grid. However native title/heritage matters and red/green tape would mean it would take forever.

The problem has mostly been green lawfare has held development up. Who can forget Adani? (coal I know but the same principal)
What the ALP face now is the reality of being in Government. They have to find a solution. Sitting on the sidelines bitching about everything is easy, governing is not.
