We are at a point now where the Government needs to think its way out of this very very carefully. In my mind, the very worst thing they can do which will kill and bury them, is to resort to digging dirt and throwing mud at individuals.
If the polls have any credence at all, and I take little notice of them, then the clear message is that a vast number of people who worshipped at Rudd's altar, have switched. By throwing mud at the opposition, you are effectively saying to those former labor voters, that they are stupid. Not a good way to get them back on side.
The public is much more likely to respond to positive confident announcements. Personal attacks and mud-slinging is absolutely the worst road to go.
