Yes I understand that. When a piece of legislation is renounced it can be difficult and certainly time consuming as it has to pass through both houses. If the legislation is passed and uranium mining is banned, by Alan Carpenters own admission, there is likely to be flood of compensation claims. So given that it is possible to reverse legislation, given the likelihood of costly compensation claims, why do it???? I just think it’s an incredibly ill-advised piece of policy.
