Can’t agree with you on some of your points. Alan Carpenter was asked in a media interview some time ago if he planned to ever legislate against the mining of uranium. He stated at that time "it wasn’t necessary" and if he did they would "expose the state to compensation claims" and went onto say he "would not be legislating against the mining of uranium" simply stating that it would not be allowed under his tenure.
Since that time companies have spent considerable sums of money both in tenement acquisitions and exploration work. Try telling them they have no right to compensation claims. A few days ago one of the world’s largest uranium miners/explorers have stated they are reviewing all of their WA operations and now regard WA with an increased level of sovereign risk.
