Certainly a factor to be considered. But combined with the fact that app rankings are relatively stable (both in the “shopping” and “overall” categories) and that pockets of retail (particularly online) seem to be barely affected, my hypothesis would be that BNPL growth continues to be relatively strong, at least much stronger than the bears would suggest.
The only other potential concern I could imagine is about bad debts, where we have few clues to go on right now. But in this regard I think it’s likelier for big companies like Afterpay to survive than for the Sezzles and Quadpays of this word.
