Another chart to show the total number of employees: This does show more clearly that Afterpay is still the 900 pound gorilla among the Australian firms.

This shows imo that while Klarna, APT and Zip compete in product, theyre not necessarily completely comparable business models. APT and Zip have much lighter operations, while Klarna (while still a comparatively flexible startup company) is more of a hybrid between BNPL and a traditional bank. APT and Zip both make 2x the revenue per employee than Klarna does.
