It's not the business, it's fintech.
Rather than just saying so, I'll provide some evidence. Backing opinions up with figures seems to be going out of fashion, but I still like it.
Let's compare Block over the last 3 months with another company in fintech - one also with a focus on payments - Paypal.
Do you see the correlation?
Conclusion: the price movements have not been a reflection of the business performance, or the viability of the business. The market sentiment to all fintechs has been much the same.
Your suggestion that the price drop was a foreseen event, and the acquisition of APT by SQ was planned and timed to disguise the price drop is a far fetched work of fantasy.
