Autosime. You use the word 'Divestment'. When i first read that word i thought you meant looking to buy a 'divestment'...did you mean this?
When i read it again it just made me think;

For ST what is their end game? Whilst it has been speculated on here about the possibility of HZN being taken over at some point 'as a whole' i have always been a total non believer due to the simple fact that HZN is tiny and who would want to buy two very small fields in two different continents and jurisdictions with lease end lives in both rapidly becoming real...kind of really doesn't make a lot of sense, as a 'whole'.
But divestment, as in a break up of HZN, hasn't been speculated about on here, but could certainly give ST and others a way out.

Okay ST et al get 30c + back over the next 4-5 years if they hold on from distributions, and to get this they take the risk on non lease renewal, BUT if OMV are the willing seller then maybe our interest there, Maari, will be bought out in any consolidation over there by someone else?

A sudden lease extension in NZ of 5 years might make our interest in Maari alone worth around 17 - 25c per share.
I would be surprised if any fund manager wants to hold forever, they always want an 'out'. Perhaps this is it?

....And as i've said many times ST fundamentally control KIl so could probably guarantee / sell any purchaser of Maari Net Zero status into any deal by selling them part of the 'worlds largest carbon removal project' into the bargain....ST win every which way.
Sounds quite far fetched and is purely speculation....its an outlier...but when you think about it ST, via their 40% + of KIL, has something that literally no one else in the world has, and they have 20% of our little baby too.

Pure speculation, and i hadn't thought about the divestment angle, but it kind of makes sense?
