I can think of only one reason that SD plays fair.

It won't be making the 49% rich, but divvies eeked out because if they do anything else, FML will become a belleather event and raise significant hurdles down the track for other foreign investment in the resources sector without strong mandatory provisions. Other countries have them, no 51% control in Indonesia, and try having your own company in China, and try getting money out. It would not be difficult for the Govt to apply a reciprocal test, foreign investment only on the basis of the foreign home countries rules.

Fat lot of good that does us though in the meantime, and its slim hope.
