Hi all. I'm trying to get an accurate P/E Ratio for Altium. The formula for P/E Ratio is:
Current Share Price / Earnings Per Share (i.e. Current Share Price divided by EPS)
If I use the EPS for FY 2018 (29 cents when rounded up, as stated in the FY 2018 Report) and today's closing share price ($32.62) the P/E Ratio is:
32.63 / 0.29 = 112.5
Alternatively, I can use the 1H 2019 EPS (18 cents as stated in the 1H 2019 Report), then annualise it (18 x 2 = 36 cents). This gives the P/E Ratio as:
32.63 / 0.36 = 90.6
Where I get confused is when I check asx.com.au and look at the key statistics for ALU. The ASX has an EPS of almost 50 cents (0.498 to be exact)! And therefore gives ALU a P/E Ratio of just 65.5
Does anyone know where the ASX got an EPS of 50 cents from? I've broken out the Altium EPS for the last two years, and I can't see anything like 50 cents for Earnings Per share.
Here is the link to the ASX key statistics for ALU.

Any insights on this would be appreciated.
