Solar power alone will never run a pot line for smelting aluminium
Solar power alone will never run a electric arc furnace for scrap metal to iron/ steel
Solar power alone will never run a hospital for essential life saving surgeries
Solar power alone will never run massive three phase motors to power a crushing plant / ball mill.

It will run small 240v systems such as :-lights and refrigeration in isolated areas away from the grid. Which is where we are mining. I get it that its re-newable, sustainable eco friendly , but only to a point.
Its the storage infrastructure that's required to support more power requirements. There-for cost.
So diesel generators are most eco friendly and cost efficient.
It may help with some power factor correction and the like , peak loads on start up , but I have never heard or witnessed a three phase 12v motor that's got enough go in it to start or run a ball mill.
