Do you know how many “battery tech breakthrough” posts ive seen since 2017. A lot. None of which have come to fruition. Fact is any new battery tech takes time to implement for a number of reasons. People in a lab find something and its a breakthrough! But then they fail to check for:
Availability -how much can be supplied
Price -can people afford to use it
Environment - whats its effect on the environment
Safe - is it safe or are there safety hazards
not to mention various other factors like transportation of the product to refueling stations and rolling out infrastructure to support it etc etc etc
lithium is what we have at present and it will take years before anything new comes available.
