You are absolutely correct. The price of ALUMINIUM will rise; however, BAU is not proposing to produce ALUMINIUM. They are proposing to one day produce ALUMINA.
Do some research and figure out the difference.
Having China (and South Africa) shut down ALUMINIUM SMELTERS [due to electricity shortages] will result in a shortage of ALUMINIUM supply and hence a price rise.
It will also directly result in an over-supply of ALUMINA and hence a price drop!
This is all short-term anyway and completely irrelevant to what BAU is proposing years down the track.
