@wafflehead - sorry, I meant to say your 91 year old mother-in-law! Apology!
Most of my friends come from different parts of the world, sorry to say, I do not have an Aboriginal friend, maybe one, but he is a friend of a close friend. My good Welsh lady friend who was married to one of that German family I wrote about, used to teach - among the white population - also Aboriginal children, she used to go to work early, scour the streets and pick them and take them to school (and had a breakfast organised, too) - , later she taught young adults - helped them in a course on life skills etc. still goes to some art exhibitions when one of her former charges has 'blossomed' in this way.
She rang me yesterday, as it was a meaningful day for me, and we had a long conversation - people like her show and live real humanity, which is what we all should do.
