I find it hard to believe that if patients in well-designed trials of a safe and efficacious drug were to show outstanding and lasting results that those results could be hidden, double-blinding notwithstanding. Caregivers would be shouting from the rooftops if HD or AD patients showed reversal of symptoms. Such a wonder drug in clinical trials would positively affect not only a few but numerous patients as opposed to the trial comparators. I find it just as hard to believe that any trial investigators would attempt to squelch such results of a good drug. The FDA and other regulators would find it exceedingly difficult to hide success, even if they should want to.

I am old enough to remember when Salk and later Sabin came up with the nearest thing to a cure for polio when it was thought that was impossible. Malaria and TB are no longer the scourges that they were. When effective treatment became available for those and other diseases, there was no noticeable loss of wealth for Big Pharma - just the opposite as they are thriving.

All it takes is GOOD drugs that work and good management to take them through the process.
