I would have thought that Heaton would support and stand by GK given their long history together.
Unless there was a falling out between the two, it would be a disappointing indication of character if Heaton simply stood by to see GK shown the door (if he was indeed shown the door). Given Heaton's importance to NRT, and hence his likely influence, you would think it may have not come to this had he wanted to assert himself.
Who knows? Perhaps Heaton did what he can, given what GK said in his June address. If so, things would appear more dire - Heaton would not be happy to find he has no influence...
