    thanks capnludd,

I use omega-3 to help the joints (big toes is the biggest personal issue) re OA. Helps, so does shark cartilage (and glucosamine). I lose track of all the AD approaches. I probably have the genetic marker APOe4 - I just stick to the basics: masses of fresh fruit & veg, minimal alcohol, no smoking, plenty of exercise, specific supplement intake, research (know your enemy) but the biggy - increase cerebral activity year by year. (and not the easy stuff like crosswords, but the challenging stuff that puts you outside your comfort zone with volumes of new material).

And I never forget when I was researching AD a few years ago, coming across thalidomide in the FDA site being trialled for AD. Bombed, but an interesting repurposing of this notorious 70's drug.
