Surely the point is to repay the loyalty of ALL shareholders, regardless of when they entered the stock. Bear in mind that the SP got up to the 180s through work of small shareholders accumulating. This has now benefited the company greatly. To have a select group gain an advantage on the back of a discounted issue is unwise. All capital raises cost money - if an SPP adds to that cost then just raise the price a penny or two; it wouldn't change the outcome. There's zero chance they'd miss their target.
So I'm extremely disappointed and will take a more wary view of the company.
