I AM looking for companies with rich ore bodies but at the moment they all seem richly priced.
I am very attracted to the idea of making short term profits of at least 100% - otherwise the risk is not justified - so if you have any suggestions......
As you say, the Aphrodite lodes are apparently not "LODES OF THE MONTH" and your point about Barrick letting it go even when they had processing capacity nearby is telling.
Further, clearly there is a share overhang which may take some time to resolve - given the numbers vis a vis current turnover.
I am going to stick with them for the following reasons:-
1. 3 year options @ around 3c with a claimed 1 million OZS in the ground - albiet difficult OZs, a big drilling programme under way and plenty of cash in the bank sounds like a good high risk speculative punt - there may be better situations around but I have not yet found them
2. The US commentary that I read is now virtually unanimous that the yanks are going to keep printing money till they drop and that this will continue to drive the price of commodities - including gold and silver. My calculation is that at some price point the Aphrodite lodes will become a "goer".
When I scan the lists I am amazed how some companies, which formerly bounced along the bottom for years, are now doing amazingly well - due to the increase in the gold price and hence the nett margin
3. A good new near surface find at Aphrodite could well tip the scales in its favour and make it flavour of the month with the punters - which according to Prechter, is a far greater driver of share price than fundamentals.
All just my opinion
