May i respectfully suggest you contact "the Leader" to get on the front foot. He should obtain permission by his group to submit formal notice in writing that the Minority group (MG) rejects the 8cps bid and that pursuing it would be a waste of resources. Without the MG, the bid will fail to attain the necessary requirements for Amalgamation, regardless of the Board's recommendation, and as such a direct negotiation would be more pragmatic.
