Why the hell would they buy ALK when they are already sitting on a 38MT polymetal that just happens to be the richest undeveloped source of Niobium, high grades of phosphate, titanium, and yes, more RE?
Besides, LynasNext expansion @ 1200tpa will produce more NdPr than ALK's two stages completed.
Lynas had enough hassles sorting a relatively simple LRE flow process, GL to ALK, but they cam keep their poly headache.
