I came accross this article on Pelican, in the Dana Petroleum WebSite seems no one mentions Pelican anymore,This could be a monster reservoir with known gas and possible oil. Plus more exploration to come, it's only a matter of when.

Pelican-1 was drilled to a total depth of approximately 12,500 feet by the ‘Jack Ryan’ drillship to test a large prospect in the southern part of Block 7 (Dana 76.5%). Analysis of the comprehensive set of log data and pressure measurements obtained from the well demonstrates the presence of three stacked gas accumulations, with a number of good quality Cretaceous age reservoir sands present over a gross interval of over 1,000 feet. Laboratory analysis of downhole fluid and rock samples also gives some indications of the possible presence of oil beneath the gas. Gas reserves are preliminarily estimated to be in the range of 600 bcf to 800 bcf, based on the current mapped volume in-place of 1,030 bcf (or 1.03 tcf). Analysis of the Pelican data continues.

Follow up technical work on Block 7 is integrating the results from 3D seismic with the Pelican well data to identify future drilling locations. This effort is at an early stage but could result in either appraisal drilling at Pelican, or further exploration drilling to test separate prospects recently identified to the north of Pelican.
