Previously the only similar full price offering on Optus was with Ovo Mobile but their $9.95/mo for 1GB only included $200 of funny money included value.
More interestingly, the previous $25 UNLIMITED offered 2GB of data, and today that is replaced with $20 UNLIMITED offering 2.5GB. Pay less, get more.
With the current 5FOR6 promo ($5 off for first 6 recharges) you can get 5GB for $25, which used to only get you 2GB.
For comparison Aldi Mobile (Telstra) offers 3GB for $25 and Kogan's (Vodafone) plans are just out of this world. For those willing to pay 1 year upfront their 6GB plan works out to be $17.13/mo.
The outlook for ARPU and margins in the mobile game is pretty grim right now.
