The president of MD Anderson is Dr Ronald DePinho. Check him out: http://www.scivee.tv/node/33381
He co-founded and headed the Dana Farber Cancer Center (associated with Harvard), described as the largest comprehensive cancer center in the world.
Last year MD Anderson established the Institute of Applied Cancer Science, aimed at converting basic discoveries into new cancer therapies. DePinho has recruited 28 scientists from Dana Farber. http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/MD-Anderson-expands-its-game-2296402.php
They sure have plenty of money to splash around. His wife, Dr Lynda Chin (a cancer geneticist) is on an $8 million package. There's another $7 million for Andy Futreal, also a cancer geneticist. He recently moved to MD Anderson from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. He was listed as one of the PREDICT (Personalised RNA Interference to Enhance the Delivery of Individualised Cytotoxic and Targeted Therapeutics) researchers: http://www.predictconsortium.eu/
Of course the researchers at MD Anderson would be aware of the work going on at Gradalis, also in Texas.
