re: amazing, ...royalties cchi Not so sure uranium royalties in NT ll flow to NTG. As you know, royalties belong to the Crown (ie Feds) and uranum mining ( the onl mineral excluded)is excluded from Nt Self Goverment Act. In viw of recent political developments, ie NTG refusing to cooperate, Feds may keep them. (royalties are paid in the first instance into Consolidated Revnue and then reimbursed in some proportion to whoever).
I say whoever, because in the NT in regard to uranium, the royalties flow back from Fed Consolidated Revenue to Aboriginal groups(t/o's in the area, cmty groups, ABTA for Territory wide Aboriginal cmty groups-ie it is this latter which has purchased all those NT pastoral properties). That is, royalties from mining on Aboriginal land go to Aborigines under the ALRA. Not certain the NTG gets anything here. eg Ranger royalties. CMR leases are mainly n ALRA land also. Under ARA, a Fed act, the Feds must provide the royalties to the countrymen.
