Might be news to you but surgeons go through medical school, do a residency, then become registrars (starting to specialise), get on a training program for a specialty and after 4-5 years qualify. So when there is a spike in presentations at the hospital you work at and a higher than average number of staff members call in sick, they are re-assigned to help out (can you imagine what genius came up with that idea). Some surgeons even manage airway issues so might actually be more than just a spare pair of hands when it comes to an respiratory related illness. Oh and she is a she not a him.
Maria's salary not dropping as fast as manufacturing costs, obviously building up for a strong year of sales!!! I would have thought that big deals with China would warrant a bigger increase in manufacturing.
