Today I sent this enquiry to a CTP spokesperson:

"I am, and a few other shareholders of my acquaintance are, unsure of what some of the text of the 1/2Year Report is referring to when it uses the phrase "the Amadeus Basin producers, including Central Petroleum Limited" (commentary and outlook para 3).

"We have guessed that the phrase is a reference to both Santos and Central. They are only 2 gas producers in the Amadeus Basin that we know of. To the best of our knowledge, other entities with an interest in the basin (and I only know of one) are only at the exploration stage.

"So it appears reasonable to assume that the document is intending use the title "the Amadeus Basin producers" as a description of our joint venture with Santos. Nonetheless we are uncomfortable relying on our guesses when it would be a reasonably simple matter for the company to give clarification.

"Also, the last sentence in that paragraph is similarly puzzling. It says that "our pathway" to market will be built independently of any actions by "the Amadeus Basin producers, including Central Petroleum Limited". Is the "our" intended to refer to the JV or to Central?

"May I ask that you arrange for the company explain or clarify these matters?"

Almost immediately I received reply a follows:

"Thanks for your inquiry:

"1. Amadeus Gas Producers are at this time limited to Santos and Central. Central have both the JV interest in Mereenie with Santos, but also its 100% owned fields. As such, Amadeus Gas Basin Producers are broader that just the Mereenie JV interests.

"2. “our pathway” related to Central’s ability to get its own gas to the east coast market through the Northern Gas Pipeline. Notwithstanding, it is a pathway for Santos production as well. It will be financed and constructed without the need for Central’s prior commitment.

So, that has cleared up those queries.
