Will the jobs off shored ever come back to the US?
Maybe when wages are even lower and union power even more weakened(see what is happening in Wisconsin) some jobs may return. Some would argue the poor education system (thinking of Joe Bageant here) is not going to provide an educated enough class for some work.
It depeneds where "capital" can make money. It seemed to serve their purposes to make money in China and similar places. If they can make money in the US they may return there.
Another factor to consider is something Gerald Celente talks about. New energy discoveries could be a game changer just as the internet was in the 1990s.
