I particularly noted the following in the conclusion of the report: “The data in this report provide an economic rationale for a coal phase-out in the next decade led by wind and solar, happening a lot quicker than most had imagined.”
i don’t have the figures at hand but i suspect Australia’s position is roughly similar: an aging coal fleet and a solar, wind and storage sector developing serious investment momentum.
rational analysis and science will always win in the long run over denying noisemaking woo, who at best can postpone or lengthen the crossover period, such is their unrequited love for coal.
