It looks like Shine is now registered as a law firm in the US. It does not normally work out well for Australia companies thinking they can play in the big leagues. I would much prefer if Shine first tried to consolidate here, became a top PI firm, helped the SHJ price to grow and pay a consistent (franked) divvy.
It looks like the American Manager is Dan Mori - the human rights lawyer Shine employed a decade ago. It would be nice to know what Shine’s plan is and how much they anticipate it will cost. Do they want to be a PI firm in the US? Do they think they can run class actions there? Are they planning to buy any US firms and aggregate like they have done here?
I am not sold on the idea, but will reserve my judgment until I know what their plan is and what is the cost.
