Framingham, Mass. and Sydney, Australia, November 10, 2010 - HeartWare International, Inc. (NASDAQ: HTWR; ASX: HIN), a leading innovator of less invasive, miniaturized circulatory support technologies that are revolutionizing the treatment of advanced heart failure, announced today that Keith Aaronson, MD, MS, will present data from the ADVANCE Bridge-to-Transplant clinical trial on Sunday, November 14, at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2010 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Dr. Aaronson, Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program and Center for Circulatory Support at the University of Michigan, is a principal investigator of the ADVANCE trial.
The formal presentation, entitled Evaluation of the HeartWare? HVAD Left Ventricular Assist Device System for the Treatment of Advanced Heart Failure: Results of the ADVANCE Bridge-to-Transplant Trial, is scheduled for approximately 4:00 p.m. CST in Hall B.
Following that presentation, HeartWare will host an investor meeting with CEO Doug Godshall, Dr. Aaronson and Mark Slaughter, MD, to review the trial data at 6:30 p.m. CST (7:30 p.m. EST). Dr. Slaughter is Professor and Chief in the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and Director of the Mechanical Assist Device and Heart Transplant Program at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, and is also a principal investigator for the ADVANCE trial.
