Trump is running 49% approve and 49% disapprove.

Based on the 2016 election, these polls tend to understate Trump's support by about 5 points.

Also, the hatred for Trump is coming from the Democrats who have a very weak field of candidates and they know that if the economy holds up (even), Trump will be re-elected and they cannot stop it.

Only about 26% of the US electorate self-defines as "Liberal" and that is not enough to win with a socialist/communist/leftist agenda. (source: Gallup Polling).
