The reality Australia and other democracies must face is that at least 30-40% of US voters favour a Communo-Fascist/Isolationist future.
Our concern is not about Trump. Trump's baggage will see him lose the election in November. The concern is that Trump is where he is in spite of the baggage.
Whoever replaces Trump at some time in the future will have huge Communo-Fascist base support IMO.
(The term Communo-Fascist follows the horseshoe analogy. At surface level there isn't much difference between Communism and Fascism. Current day extreme autocracy is a mish mash of both.)
