@pints; it's my assessment that we're approaching a global tipping point on many fronts - from overpopulation to insatiable greed and unprecedented corruption to insatiable warmongering and runaway environmental vandalism.
I'm now too old to see a way through what I perceive to be a looming humanitarian apocalypse.
Post WW2 there was global hope that social democracies were the key to delivering a better future. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Middle East in general, the proxy WW3 between the USA-Israel and Iran, the proxy WW3 between the USA-NATO and Russia and even the shadow-war between the USA and China suggest otherwise.
