No fun Police here, you asked us a serious question and we answered it seriously with both sides of the coin presented to you.
My apologies if i have offended, but dont post a serious Q if you dont want a serious Answer - you did say he attacked another dog as a puppy! Imagine when he's had that nature reinforced for 6 months when he sees the owners responding to the "funny" side of his behaviour.
Be a good owner and spend a grand on training it, it sound like it, you, other dogs and strangers will need it.
