    staffys are great dogs IMO

interesting stat i read once was that the most common dog do bite as recorded by hospital admissions was the golden retriever- it is also one of the most popular breeds

the point is that all dogs have the potential to bite and as such popular breeds are proportionately represented

the key to most dog behaviour problems is getting them socialised in the first 4 months of life- this si the basis of pupp schools

the most common reason people get rid of dogs is for behaviour problems- barking , biting, aggression etc- most of it fear based anxiety

the problem is that some breeds can inflict more damage than others- chihuahuas can be aggressive little so and sos but they arent going to kill you- same agression in a bigger powerful dog and you have a problem

the trouble with selecting breeds to ban is that it is v difficult to say for certainty what breed any partic dog is- they tried this in the UK and happy family staffys were being rounded up off the street and impounded for being 'pit bulls'. the pit bull isnt a recognised breed- so how do u prove any dog is one?

it is true there are young males in partic who love the macho image of a savage dog on the end of a chain and all hell breaks lose when it goes nuts- lots of damage- it's like walking the streets with a loaded gun with a hair trigger
