As if America doesn't have enough guns in military,
police and private hands already - but the tiniest
hint that US law-makers may defy the awesome
might of the US gun lobby propels Americans
to stock up on more guns and bullets to be
able to out-gun each other in a dispute.
In Australia, gun wholesalers are expecting one of
the biggest supply shortages in recent history with
American civilians purchasing arms at record speed.
Scrutiny of gun laws in the United States is thought to
have sparked the gun sales boom, with the flow-on
effects expected to reach Aussie shores within weeks.
Some of the most popular bullets will soon be gone
in Australia and New Zealand and won't be restocked
for about another six months.
Aussie firearm importers are being told to brace for
supplies to run thin or totally dry up within weeks.
Meanwhile the latest gun massacre in California
(at Santa Monica) did not disrupt top-level talks
between world leaders wIth Obama hoping for
better gun-toting military relations with China.
The world's two biggest super-powers ganging
up on human rights is cause for great unease.
Why fight each when (like Hitler and Stalin)
they can carve up the world into American
and Chinese spheres of influence. Who
