Defy the "gun lobby" or abrogate their second amendment? Who could trust a bought and paid for politician in any western country these days? It is not the "lawmaker's" job to defy the constitution rather it is to uphold it.
I also note the subtle change of late that instead of "representatives" they are called "lawmakers", cutting the connection to their constituents and becoming rulers in their own right. They need a lesson or three in humility...
