Talking of conspiracy theories, I wonder who would have thought, after watching people collapsing in the streets of China back in January, that we would now be in a stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne with a death rate of approximately 2.4 per 100,000 and no deaths for anyone under 40?
Put your mind back to Jan, if someone said "Yup, 2.4 deaths per 100,000 people in Melbourne, lock the state down", we'd have considered that madness, wouldn't we?
It just goes to shows what blanket media coverage does to the collective mindset. Just imagine what would have been imposed on us if we were collapsing in the streets as we originally feared?
