You present a very balanced view.
Kinda like the old saying damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Whilst there are so many factors to consider it is certainly important to consider that pulling out and no longer investing in a country like the DRC can have greater ramifications than to not do so in the first place.
Whilst on a BBC or similar documentary it might sound all terrible to see people working to earn a living.. Particularly how they do it.. To take away that opportunity wouldn't be the right thing to do.
However...
It's about finding the right balance..
Over time a factor that I see becoming more prominent is that of companies seeking 'ethical supply' and those that buy electric vehicles do it for morally sound reasons such as the environment... But ethically sourced will be a factor.
There is a bigger picture at play here and I think people in general should take a step back and think about what the right thing is to do rather than saying 'screw this, I don't want to be a part of these people'
Because each time that happens it takes away opportunities for those that desperately need it.
Anyways, just wanted to say I support your open minded view.
