You do not understand the term ethical investment?
Manono Project previously owned by Geomines SA (Belgium mining company); operated 6 open pit mines from 1910-1982 on the Manono Kitotolo pegmatites, producing 140,000 - 185,000 tons of tin concentrate (Zairetain 1981).
In fact this company will be the catalyst to return the mine to operation. To restore the mine to operation Chinese companies will invest to re-build roads and rail infrastructure and restore a hydro electric plant to operation.
Sounds pretty ethical to me.
The displacement of people during periods of conflict a decade and a half ago, has been the main reason for the desperate situation of poverty in the Congo.
By investing heavily the Chinese are going to mine at Manono and have the infrastructure in place to ensure that security forces will be able to deploy quickly and stop things getting out of hand.
Sounds ethical too.
