I think that's a bit harsh - given the question asked of the broker you would haver to say that he was placed in a difficult position. Asking for a short term spec trade in the greatest bear market in history (I think) is one that he should have passed on - but hey - he has to eat!
The big question is really whether he follows through with another recomendation - either to continue to hold or sell.
A healthy scepticism is a good thing to have when seeking and following broker's advice.
